Greeting
제30대 회장 오의금
Dear esteemed members, I am Eui Geum Oh, and it is my profound privilege and honor to begin my term as the 30th president.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude and respect to our former presidents, past executives, and all senior and junior researchers and practitioners who have dedicated themselves to the advancement of nursing over the years. I am profoundly grateful for the trust that our members have placed in me by electing me to this significant position within the society, despite my own shortcomings. I hereby pledge to exert my utmost efforts to propel the society forward into a new era.

In the contemporary era, we are confronted with a tripartite transition of aging populations, digital transformation, and the climate crisis, in conjunction with rapid changes driven by artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced technologies. Amid these changes, the role and responsibilities of the nursing profession are expanding to an unprecedented extent. Nursing now finds itself at a juncture where it must respond more proactively to its academic and social obligations. Therefore, this society aims to establish a new vision for its mid- to long-term development and solidify its leadership as a sustainable academic discipline.

First, in the domain of academic and research, we will lead the development of nursing knowledge required for the new era
We will systematically establish a research policy support framework to enhance the academic depth and expandability of nursing through evidence-based nursing and interdisciplinary research. This will elevate the value of nursing research in addressing national and societal challenges. Furthermore, we will continue to promote the international standing of our journal and enhance research ethics and quality management to ensure that the outstanding research achievements of Korean nursing exert substantial influence within the international academic community.

Second, in the domain of education and publishing, we will prioritize the cultivation of talent to lead the future of nursing.
We will facilitate faculty development to align with the evolving healthcare environment while pursuing the establishment of an integrated future nursing education model from a long-term perspective, presenting a new educational paradigm where nursing theory, practice, and research are organically interconnected. Furthermore, we will continue to enhance question development to strengthen clinical judgment and problem-solving capabilities in preparation for the CBT-based National Nursing Examination, which will be implemented starting in 2028.

Third, in the domain of policy and external collaboration, we will proactively address rapidly evolving healthcare concerns.
We will operate the Nursing Policy Forum and strengthen the healthcare network among industry, academia, research institutes, and government, serving as the central hub for knowledge and public discourse to ensure that nursing expertise and practical field experience are meaningfully reflected in national healthcare policies.

To realize this vision, we will pursue the innovation demanded by the new era while adhering to the traditional role of the society through close cooperation with the Standing Committee and member societies. Furthermore, guided by the principle of prioritizing not only the validity of outcomes but also the fairness and ethics of processes, we will build a trusted society through transparent and fair operations and enhanced communication with our members.

The wisdom and participation of each and every member is the greatest asset of our society. We are eager to collaborate in shaping the future of Korean nursing through shared deliberation and action. We kindly request your continued interest and active participation.
